Introduction
At Concept Projects Group, we are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Since launching our ‘Optional Carbon Offset Contribution’ initiative in August 2023, we have successfully planted 100 trees and offset 367 tonnes of CO2e. This achievement highlights our dedication to our ESG strategy and the positive impact our small business can make on the environment.
Our Vision and Mission
Based in the Wirral, Concept Projects Group has always been at the forefront of innovative project management. Our vision is to become the biggest and best quality engineering and construction projects provider in the North West of England. We strive for industry-recognised excellence and aim to be a leading disruptor who has changed the environmental landscape for the manufacturing sector. Our new carbon offset initiative is an integral part of our mission to lead by example, promoting sustainability in every project we undertake.
Client Contributions and Environmental Impact
We manage projects across various sectors, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, homecare, and more. By offering our clients the opportunity to contribute an additional 1% of their overall quote value towards carbon offsetting efforts, we are making strides in reducing our carbon footprint.
The contributions from our esteemed clients—John West, Bespak, and Unilever—have been instrumental in this achievement. Their support has enabled us to plant 100 trees in Rowan Tree Farm Reserve, Derbyshire. These trees absorb carbon, produce oxygen, and support insects, birds, and small mammals—and will do so for decades to come! It’s a tangible step towards a greener future, and we couldn’t have done it without the collaboration of our clients and partners.
Partnership with Make It Wild
Our partnership with Make It Wild has been invaluable. Lesley Coleman, Project Manager at Make It Wild, shared her thoughts: “Make It Wild are delighted to be able to partner with Concept Projects Group, to support their sustainability goals. Their contribution towards our nature restoration work will make a tangible difference to the biodiversity in the vicinity of our projects. It will also help more generally, to spread the important message of the increased need for wildlife conservation here in the UK.”
Special Thanks and Acknowledgments
To our clients and partners, thank you for your continued support and participation in this initiative. Together, we are making a difference. We also want to extend special thanks to Emma Furfie, our Operations and Change Co-ordinator, who led this initiative for Concept Projects Group. Reflecting on the achievement, she said, “I’m incredibly proud of our tree-planting partnership and the significant milestone we’ve achieved. Together with our clients, we’ve not only reduced our environmental footprint but also set a new standard for sustainable innovation.”
Conclusion
In conclusion, our ESG strategy is not just a corporate responsibility. It’s a core value that drives us. The ‘Optional Carbon Offset Contribution’ initiative is a testament to how small businesses like ours can make a significant impact. As we continue to manage engineering and construction projects across various sectors, we remain committed to integrating sustainable practices into every facet of our operations.
